EARMARK Studio News -

Summer 2014

Hello my painting friends. You may have noticed that I have re-named the newsletter from News from Cheryl's Ferrule to EARMARK Studio News. I just thought it was a better name for it.

It's been a while since I sent out the newsletter and some of you may have even forgotten that you signed up for it. If after reading this issue you decide you don't want to receive any more, just unsubscribe by following the link at the end of this page.

My intention is to send out the newsletter more frequently. So I need your help. I've created a short survey in order to get your feedback. It'll only take a minute and it would go a long way to help me make sure I serve you to the best of my ability. Some people love to get newsletters weekly others just a few times a year. I will go along with the majority.

Also, I want to give you creative incentives and interesting techniques to try out and from time to time give you a free e-packet to download. Oh boy!!!! And, if you have ideas, questions or cool tips I would love to feature them in the newsletter.

Enjoy the newsletter and the rest of this glorious summer!

Many of you have been painting with me for many, many years. Your support has been and continues to be very much appreciated.

As a way of saying thank you, I'm opening up the studio on Friday, August 8th and Saturday, August 9th for you to come paint for free. I will be here to help with techniques and to help you complete your unfinished projects.

Just bring your paints and brushes. Pack a lunch and I'll supply snacks and beverages.

Space is limited to 8 participants, so please contact me to let me know you're coming.

It seems that more and more of my students are retiring or are retired and have more time on their hands. I've decided to open up the studio on Fridays to do some Christmas-themed workshops.

Most workshops will include the surfaces and prep work so all you do is show up with your packed lunch and we paint, paint, paint!

Visit the Mini Workshops page for more information!

Because of the huge response to the mixed media greeting cards workshop, I'm going to do the class again on 2 separate dates. You can choose either Friday, August 22 or Saturday, August 23. It's heaps of fun and extremely relaxing. It's very zen. So if you're looking to do something soothing, come make over 100 greeting cards, the easy peasy way!

And talk about fun! The silk scarves workshop with Catherine Gutsche is on again. A new date has been added. If you're looking to do something fun and practical, this would be it.

Visit the Workshops Page for more information on all of the upcoming workshops and register today.

As some of you may know, I have a website dedicated to low carbohydrate recipes. For health reasons we have chosen this way of eating. Since embarking on the low carb band wagon, hubby has lost about 30 pounds and I have lost just under 20. But best of all, we were able to come off our cholesterol medications and our blood sugar is stabilized.

So here is a link to one of my latest recipes. I hope you like this chicken casserole.

Some of you already know that I became a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) back in February 2014. I studied for nearly a year with the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching. It was life changing for me.

So, besides being an artist and teacher, I also work with women and men who have low self-esteem / poor body image. People whose weight is holding them back from living life full on. It's a career I'm passionate about because I get to make a difference in people's lives.

If you're curious about what a life coach can do for you or a loved one, follow this link. And feel free to ask me about a 30 minute complimentary session. I'd love to talk with you. All sessions are done over the phone and are kept strictly confidential.

As always, I wish you the very best!

Cheryl Poulin
