Here's what Wendy Fraser has to say...
"I have always loved the texture, colours and the flexibility of textiles. Even as a young teenager, I was drawn to working with textile-based crafts.
Having been involved with needlecrafts as a hobby from a very young age, the transition into fibre arts seemed a natural progression.
Moving from traditional quilting methods to contemporary fibre art was a little more difficult.
I love to work with wearables, altered fibre art and fabric manipulation. I am inspired by the artists around me, what I see and the artists that have paved the way before me."
Wendy enjoys teaching fibre related art techniques as well as beginning quilting. She also offers classes in reusable art where odd items are used with fibre to create wonderful pieces of original art.
Wendy has won numerous awards for her textile art in local, regional, national and international competitions. She has had her work juried into the World Quilt Competition.
