MIXED MEDIA ART CLASSES
2010 Schedule
My mixed media art classes are inspiring and rewarding. In these classes there's a sense of freedom and of play. Joy is abundant! These are workshops for trying various techniques and experimenting with different approaches to making abstract or non-representational art. You don't need any experience in art at all to come and explore a new way of expressing yourself that's uniquely yours. My role in the studio is to facilitate and guide you as you explore your creativity through the use of mediums, papers, paints and much more.

ABSTRACT SEASCAPE or LANDSCAPE MIXED MEDIA NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED. I love coming up with ideas for my mixed media art classes. This one is interesting because if you've never done this sort of thing before, I actually provide you with a simple layout diagram to help you orient yourself. Of course, yours will be very different from mine, as will everyone's. And that's the best part... originality! So come spend the day using texture and found objects creating an abstract painting depicting a scene using a pre-planned composition for guidance. Or of course just do your own thing! Ideal for the non-painter and the person who doesn’t draw. Here's a fun project!
Why not collage a simple piece of furniture?
In this example, I have used original vintage movie ads to cover a tall CD / DVD cabinet.
I've also done 2 crates with lids for storing more DVDs and old VHS tapes. Just click on the CD cabinet image on the left to see one of the crates.
In this workshop, learn how to do a simple collage using images and text as an under-painting.
Using my technique, you'll simulate a real vintage effect by applying and removing paint over the collage.
Choose a wooden surface of your liking, preferably unfinished wood. IKEA has some nice trays, small tables and stools. Great finds at Value Village and consignment shops.
MAKES A GREAT FATHER'S DAY GIFT!!!!
Workshop size limited to 5 students to ensure there's plenty of elbow room.
