MIXED MEDIA ART CLASSESWINTER / SPRING 2012 ScheduleMy mixed media art classes are inspiring and rewarding. In these classes there's a sense of freedom and of play. Joy is abundant! These are workshops for trying various techniques and experimenting with different approaches to making abstract or non-representational art. You don't need any experience in art at all to come and explore a new way of expressing yourself that's uniquely yours. My role in the studio is to facilitate and guide you as you explore your creativity through the use of mediums, papers, paints and much more. I'm also delighted to have awesome guest teachers in the studio from time to time.

My guest teacher ANdrea Warren has geared this workshop towards the acrylic beginner. This class will unravel the mystery of color and color mixing, and give a solid and practical understanding of the various pigments and how to use them. Designed to answer the most commonly asked questions posed by those starting out, this class will lead you through the wide world of colour through a series of fun exercises. All materials included, including a Golden sampler set of starter colors, color mixing guide, product information folder, and class notes. Back by popular demand, guest teacher Andrea Warren is an amazing artist and happens to be a representative for Golden Acrylics. She asks, "Ever wonder what all those jars full of white goop do?" I've invited Andrea to teach a full day, intensive workshop where you will play with all the mediums and gels Golden has to offer. You'll learn what each does, and see what possibilities they open up for your own work. You will learn techniques for using them such as glazing, image transferring, pouring resin-like surfaces, painting wet-into-wet, and sgrafitto. From the iced windowpane look of the Glass Bead Gel, to the waxy, encaustic-like Heavy Gel Matte, discover what gel to use to get the look you're going for. Come learn and experiment in a comfortable setting, get inspired, and take your work to the next level! All materials included!

Photo, Print, Paint II: Open Studio - for those who have taken the first Photo, Print, Paint Now that you have an understanding of the Golden Digital Mixed Media process, this class will allow you to continue your exploration of this fun technique at your own pace. Bring your own images and canvases, and work on your masterpieces with the benefit of a fully stocked Golden studio- including paints, gels, pastes, pre-made skins, and printer - as well as one-on-one guidance and direction. Come spend a weekend with Golden, create some mixed media magic, and keep those creative juices flowing! All Golden acrylic materials included.
